| TEXT: Athyrium niponicum 'Pictum' Large Form
1. There is only one p in niponicum. 2. There is a fairly major debate whether or not this is the right name. It won't be decided until there are some more studies on it. John Mickel alternates between it being a species that the Japanese haven't told us about, and a fertile hybrid with A. filix-femina or another of the 'Lady Ferns'. I originally got it from the granddaughter of one of the few non-sharing gardeners I have ever known. |
