TEXT: Caryopteris divaricata The bluecurls from Asia. According to Phil Cantino of Ohio University, it and Trichostema dichotomum, the annual from the American east coast, are closely related to each other. He and several other research groups are investigating the relationship of the Verbenaceae to the branch of the Lamiaceae to which Trichostema belongs. It may be possible to combine the two families some day.
