| TEXT: Centaurea drabifolia ssp. austrooccidentalis
The picture was taken in my garden last summer. I grow this plant from
seeds collected by M. Pavelka (Euroseeds) in Turkey (Sultan dag). The seeds
were sown in April '94 and germinated 2 weeks later. The plants are about
20 cm high, but the shape is rather lax. The flowers itself are golden-yellow
and very striking. I grow the plant in a sunny part of my rock garden and
the soil is loam. It is one of the easier Centaurea's for the rock garden.
