TEXT: Claytonia virginica (Portulacaceae) The Spring Beauty is blooming in my little patch of woods. Last year, she was invisible, but two plants have reappeared and popped into flower today. This native of Indiana is sometimes present in clouds among the trees or in shady lawns. Not so on my land, where she is not nearly as happy as some foreign visitors.
