The Dolomites....revisited

The Dolomites in July !!!! Wonderful weather you would expect? Not so !!!! It actually snowed in Arabba at 1700m. (See photoheader above). Not surprisingly, the season was much later than last year...maybe even 4-5 weeks behind and this gave the opportunity to see the very early flora not normally on display at this time of year.  And so it is my pleasure to present you with "The Dolomites.....revisited".           Enjoy !!!!

The selection of photographs is in no particular order and so I have given details of habitat and altitude. This in no way implies that these plants can only be found under these conditions, it just happens to be where I took the photographs.

Our thanks once again to Collett's Mountain Holidays for providing us with the opportunity to lead the walks. Please visit their website, they are a wonderful Company and totally committed to the enjoyment and satisfaction of their clients.

The experience we enjoyed is due in no small part to the friendship of those we met along the way (too numerous to mention but they know who they are), the shared lunches and dinners, the oxygen masks (!!!), the humour and laughter and the Radlers (not necessarily in that order). We hope to meet you all again soon.

If you're contemplating a trip into the Dolomites, you could do worse than join up with Sherba and I......ask David & Wendy.....well maybe not *grin*. But seriously.........we always welcome new friends.....and I know where they serve the best Radlers in town !!! How about that for an incentive? So sit back and enjoy the photos....and if you think the plants are spectacular, you should see the scenery !!!!
