The East Lancashire Group was formed in December 1986. Its aims are simply this:

"To advance the appreciation and knowledge of, and the sheer delight to be found in, alpine gardening in all its forms".

To this end, the Group presents a season of informative lectures, garden visits, a newsletter  and its own National Alpine Garden Society Annual Flower Show.

STOP PRESS:
Once again John Dower and his team from East Lancs Group will stage the  AGS display at RHS Show at Tatton  Park - 21st to 25th July 2004.

The display takes the form of a stylish 'backyard' intended to demonstrate how alpine plants may be integrated into areas of  limited space such as backyards, terraces or patios. Put simply, even those with severely limited  space and no room for a large rockery (or any rockery at all for that  matter!), can enjoy all the beauty and satisfaction of growing alpine  plants. Also featured will be exhibits from the Artistic Section of AGS Shows  including painting, photography and needlework, plus miniature gardens and  flower arrangements, to encourage those with artistic talents but perhaps not  'green fingers' to become members of the AGS.
John and his team will be delighted to see you there
