| TEXT: Galanthus ikariae latifolia (Amaryllidaceae) This is Galanthus ikariae growing by the greenhouse. It was purchased form a commercial source. It was planted last autumn, and a layer of mulch was put over it at that time. Bloom started a week or two ago (i.e., early or mid-March). Note the shiny, bright green foliage, which is almost as wide as that of G. elwesii; but the elwesii foliage is a dull, glaucous, light green. |
