Great Alpine Flower Hikes of the
World is being developed as the result of a suggestion by David Sellars
of British Columbia to Alpine-L members and is intended to provide
readers with ideas on some of the best areas to hike and see
alpine wildflowers in their native habitats.
The value of this initiative depends on contributions submitted by dedicated
hikers and wildlfower enthusiasts from around the World and your contribution would be most welcome.
Submissions in both Windows and Mac formats are acceptable for both
text and image files. Text should preferably be no more than 1000 words
and images no more than 500 Kbs.
Basic information for each hike should include 1. How to get there 2. The length and duration of the walk 3. Suitable map references 4. Useful Floras Additional
information should include a description of the hike and
photographs of the plants, as well as information that would prove
useful to any prospective hikers. The page format will be done at this
end and will take the form of a three column page. One column to
include the text and the other two to include thumbnail photographs.
The text will also be made available in a "Printer Friendly Version"
and the original photographs will be contained in an additional Photo
Gallery. All contributions will be acknowledged and will remain the
© of the contributor.
