TEXT: Iris caucasica This little bulb iris belongs to the juno section within iris. Most of the junos come from Central Asia, where the summers are dry. Height 10-20 cm, flowers soft lemon green, 1-5 flowers per stem, flowering period from mid April onwards. I grow this in top of the rockbed, the top 10cm of soil is pure drainage material, in order to keep the neck of the stem dry. Water in spring until the leaves are turning yellow, keep dry during summer, then water some in the autumn, protect from rain during winter. I find it very hardy.
